Welcome to the Recker's Farm

Tom planted his first garden when he was 7 years old. He then went on to spend decades in the plumbing and construction industry learning valuable skills that we've put to good use on the farm.

Cheryl started farming with her father on his conventional row crop and beef cattle farm over 30 years ago. She also got a B.S. degree in Plant Science from MU.

Tom and Cheryl married in 2015 and began with a back yard garden, and then in 2016 began as market gardeners. In early  2017 they installed a high tunnel on their property so they can extend their growing season year round.

Tom and Cheryl started a homestead where they will grow fruits, vegetables, chickens, pigs, and beef cattle. They hope to expand their operation in the coming years to include mushrooms, sheep, and aquaponics. For the past 3 years they sold their produce at a local farmer's market, and at their own road side stand. In addition, they sold bags of produce weekly to locals and customers in Lee's Summit, MO. In 2019 they will open a new farm stand/store located on their farm.

We are doing our best to grow our produce as natural as possible, and as safely as possible. We eat what we grow, and only want the best for us and you!

Produce Shares

For the past two years we have offered weekly and bi-weekly produce shares with "members" from Jamestown to Kansas City.

Members pick a plan that best fits their eating habits and family size. A deposit will be collected when the member signs up, and then a weekly or bi-weekly payment there after. The deposit will be applied to their last produce share of the season.

Members are encouraged to specify vegetables that they would rather not receive, and we will do our best to accommodate those requests, but we may not always be able to accommodate every request. We greatly appreciate your understanding!

Shares can be picked up at our farm stand on Saturdays, or arrangements can be made if you live in the Columbia or Kansas City area.

In the next few weeks a signup page for 2019 season will be available. The produce shares will begin in early spring. We are tentatively planning to start in April or early May and continuing thru until the first killing frost which is usually in late Oct. or early Nov.

UPDATED 2/15/19: The  signup page is ready, and the link located at the bottom of our produce page!

Come to our Farm Stand

In November of 2018 we opened a farm stand at our property so that people can come to us, and buy our fresh produce. We started out doing farmer's markets, and a road side tent. The farm stand allows us to be inside in a climate controlled room so that the produce can stay cool, and in the best condition possible.

Starting in March 2019 we will be open every Saturday from 9 till 3:00. As the produce increases we will add more days and hours of operation. Check back for more dates and times.
